I went through a divorce. I had to refinance the house in just my name. 5/13/2008. I have lived in the same house for 10 years. Both of our names where on the mortgage up to that point. Do i qualify for any of the credits?

> You may qualify for the "reduced" home buyer tax credit of up to $6,500. Details qualification criteria can be found here (see third paragraph):

If I purchase a second home with the plan to sell my primary home,Will the $6500.00 be taken up front off the price of the new home?

> No, it will not. The credit can only be claimed towards your primary home. If the second home is not your primary home, then you cannot claim the credit. The fact that you intend to sell your first home at some future point in time is not good enough.

My daughter graduated from college last fall; while in college she did not work, therefore she had no income. I claimed her on my taxes since I supported her 100%; she just purchased a home and in filling out the forms came to the realization that I can’t claim her last her in order for her to qualify for the $8000 stimulus – is this true? if so, that makes no sense to me – she is doing things in the order that makes most sense; going to college, graduating, getting a good job, buying a home – do I have to remove her as a dependent from last year in order for her to qualify?

> You heard correct. Anyone who was claimed as a dependent on another person's tax return does not qualify for the stimulus.
